    What is a Good GRE Score for the University of Michigan?

    The University of Michigan requires a GRE score for graduate admissions. The average GRE scores for UM graduate programs range from 155 to 165 for Verbal and Quant. (Quant score averages should be higher for science-related courses and math-based programs, while Verbal averages should be higher for arts and humanities programs.)

    To be eligible for applications, you should have a score above 50 percentile in the three sections - Quantitative, Verbal, and Analytics Writing. PhD courses do not need a GRE score, and your score should not be over 5 years old. There is a GRE waiver if you have graduated if you completed your undergraduate degree from a US university. However, for an international student, a GRE score is mandatory.

Preference is generally given to students with a B average (3.0 in a 4.0 grading system) in relevant undergraduate coursework.
