If you plan to take the dMAT under the updated APS India verification requirement, check these eligibility criteria before registering:

  • Eligible fields: Your Bachelor's degree must be in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or Management.
  • Engineering graduates: Graduates from any engineering discipline can register.
  • Commerce and related fields: Undergraduate degrees in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Economics qualify.
  • Business and Management: BBA and equivalent Business or Management degrees are eligible.
  • APS registration timing: You need to have completed your online APS registration or shipped your documents on or after 29 June 2026.
  • Target intake: The requirement applies to students targeting the Summer Semester 2027 or later Master's intakes in Germany.

Important note: You do not need to register for the dMAT if you completed your APS online registration or shipped your documents before 29 June 2026, already hold an APS certificate, or plan to start your Master's in an intake not covered by the updated verification requirement.

dMAT Registration Process: Step-by-Step

To register for the dMAT, you need to complete the process online through the official g.a.s.t. portal, from creating your account to confirming your test slot

Here are the steps to follow for dMAT registration, from creating your account to confirming your test slot.

Step 1: Visit the Official dMAT Portal

Go to the official g.a.s.t. registration portal at www.d-mat.de/en/registration to start your dMAT registration. This is the authorised platform for bookings, while APS India does not handle dMAT test bookings directly.

Step 2: Select Your Language and Region

The portal may open in German, so use your browser's translate feature to switch to English if needed. Select ‘Worldwide’ if you are registering from outside Germany and then choose your nationality.

Step 3: Choose Your Test Centre and Module

Select your preferred city and an available licensed test centre, such as Pune or Mumbai. For Indian applicants, the General Academic Module is currently the selectable module.

Step 4: Select Your Exam Date and Slot

Choose an available exam date for the 2026 cycle and select a morning or afternoon session. Test slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is recommended.

Step 5: Create Your Account and Add Your Details

Create your test-taker account and enter your personal information exactly as shown on your passport or national ID. Upload a recent photograph and keep your login details safe, as you will need them to access your test-taker portal and results later.

Step 6: Review Your dMAT Registration

Check your name, identification details, test centre, module, exam date, and slot before submitting the application. Your personal details should match your APS documentation to avoid issues during verification.

Step 7: Pay the Fee and Confirm Your Slot

Pay the €150 (₹16,500) dMAT registration fee online using the available payment methods. After successful payment, save your registration confirmation with your test centre and slot details for future reference.

Documents Required for dMAT Registration

You need a valid passport or residence permit, a recent digital passport-size photograph, and a few more documents to complete dMAT registration.

Keep the following documents and details ready before you start your dMAT registration:

  • Identification document: A valid passport or residence permit number.
  • Photograph: A recent digital passport-size photograph for your test-taker profile.
  • Personal details: Your full name, date of birth, current residential address, and a working email address.
  • Payment method: A valid international credit or debit card to pay the dMAT registration fee online.
